Transfer of Innovation in Networks - A Narrative Systems Approach on Inquiring Communication

The paper presents the idea of a communication platform consisting of a rather untraditional way of approaching the knowledge transfer process in project development. By combining theories and practice of Inquiry, Communities of Practice and Antenarratives, a new turn of coping with The Systems Approach is being established. Participants in a cross-cultural project can by applying this methodology tell their own story and develop their joint future story in an understandable and heroic mood. Heroic in a sense that people dare to mobilize courage for oneself and others to act differently against mainstream ideals. A mood that is undeniably needed in the quest for knowledge and wisdom. Still, this cross-cultural communication platform is systemic in a broad sense because it is formulated from a systems perspective, meaning that it is based on some systems principles that we find crucial in processing knowledge transfer. For instance, the platform is based on the view that everything is connected to everything else, that nothing is a collection of parts, but a part of an integrated whole. As much as knowledge transfer is being argued for in this platform, knowledge creation becomes real as a consequence. With this paper, we also wish to broaden the picture of how different frames of narrative can reflect different ways of viewing the world, which undoubtedly influences the way we choose to tell our story.
